Memoria Pétrea is a project for the relocation of old slate slabs from the mid-19th century (created by hand from sheets of slate carved by hand with shears, for the configuration of roof covers), from old buildings in ruins , corrals of the Valls d'Aneu in the Catalan Pyrenees.

The objective of the project is to recover and give visibility to 6 different slabs that have been shaping their status over time. Some objects whose historical journey began with the compression of ancient beds and the formation of sheets of metamorphic rock in the form of mountains, which human beings cleverly transformed into a tool for the construction of roofs and which, upon reaching the end of their useful life, are recovered to generate a sound project that delves into his memory. An acoustic journey through the use of contact microphones to extract sounds and generate acoustic pieces through the passage of time that occurs on them, in their last location before being relocated and displayed in the exhibition hall.
